            The holidays are upon us and a New Year is on it's way in. As we slow down to reflect on this past year, we hope you and your families enjoy the Holiday Season.  For those of you counting, this is Dr. LeSage's twentieth annual newsletter; hopefully, you enjoy the yearly updates.  As is usually the case, this has been another remarkably busy year for our practice.
 
            First of all, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers that have allowed us to grow and prosper. The growth and success of the practice has been a direct reflection of your support through your referrals and for those of you who had the chance to attend our 20^th Celebration, everyone could see and feel the appreciation thoughout the evening.
 
Most of you are very aware of Dr. LeSage's continued efforts to be at the cutting edge of dental education and technology.  The Institute consists of Dr. LeSage and associate's state of the art private practice and media savvy consultation room; as well as a teaching and training operatory and classroom for practicing dentists.
 
STAFF UPDATE
Dr. LeSage….. continues to be an educator as well as a practitioner in the field of comprehensive, esthetic dentistry.  For the 13^th straight year the UCLA Aesthetic Continuum program he directs has sold out.  The continuum is a 12 day program where practicing dentists learn contemporary esthetic dental procedures through lecture, hands-on participation and live patient demonstrations.  Dr. LeSage facilitates approximately half the program.  He is in his 6^th year as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Fellowship Chair and his 12^th year as an Accreditation Examiner.  Dr. LeSages's lecturers have taken his family across the country and international. They have visited London England, Tele Aviv Israel, New York, Boston, Chicago, Texas and Hawaii.
 
After 2007's successful presentation, Dr. LeSage achieved a milestone in his career by being inducted as a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. The AAED awarded that Dr. LeSage is officially 1 of approximately 200 worldwide members with the AAED.  He is amongst 4 dentists in the world that have achieved AACD Fellowship and AAED membership.    He has taught over 120 hours of continuing education and studied over 40 hours.  The Beverly Hills Institute of Dental Esthetics, has taught several courses this past year and is conducting educational programs on a regular basis.  Dr. LeSage enjoys the mixture of private practice and sharing knowledge with his dental colleagues.  His private practice is the most rewarding as he provides the highest standard of care to you his patients. 
 
Dr. LeSage has published several articles this year all involving the theme of conservative dentistry-efforts to save our patients the tooth structure. These articles included; Revisiting the Design of Minimal and No-Preparation Veneers; A Step-by-Step Technique. We are very proud to announce that Dr. LeSage's wife, Dr. Afsaneh Malaekeh has joined the practice! Dr. Malaekeh graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1993.  She has been actively learning advances in dentistry for the past seventeen years by attending hundreds of hours of continuing education seminars and lectures from the nation's top clinicians. Dr. Malaekeh is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and California Dental Association.   In 2003, she was asked to join the UCLA School of Dentistry Alumni Board and in May of 2010 she became President for this Alumni Association. Dr. Malaekeh also taught Digital Dental Photography at UCLA School of Dentistry in 2004 and 2005. Though she is a busy mom of two young children, her love of practicing dentistry keeps her a dedicated professional. Dr. Malaekeh states: "I am very fortunate for I truly enjoy what I do and I now have the opportunity to practice with my husband and mentor at the Beverly Hills Institute of Dental Esthetics."
 
Dr. Sahand Zarrabian also joined our BHIDE staff this year. Dr. Sahand graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2010, with the prestigious student award of Excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry presented by the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED). 
 
Edwin, Gracie and Candace……. chair-side along with Dr. LeSage for every patient visit.  Their goal is to make every visit as comfortable and timely as possible.  Please do not hesitate to make any special request.
 
Shilla…… who is now going into her fifth year with the practice, will be returning from her maternity leave and welcomed a baby girl Kayla, this past August. During her absence we had Shima, yes "Shima"! Shilla's sister join our staff.
 
Shilla, Shima and Mina continue to run the hygiene program and have done an exceptional job in educating and motivating our patients in oral hygiene and its relationship with your overall health.  They keep up with the most recent advancements in periodontal maintenance and oral care.
 
Julie and Kathy…….. are always there to assist you with VIP service.  They have over 40 years of experience in the dental field, so please do not hesitate to ask them any question regarding the administrative aspect of our practice.  They are more then happy to accommodate you in any fashion.
 
We hope you have enjoyed hearing a little about each of us.  Every day each
