Minimally invasive Dentistry
This is the predictable restoration of teeth to normal form and function with tooth colored restorations done in a very conservative and least invasive way.
To help you better understand your diagnosis, we use intra-oral cameras in every treatment room, leading to a faster diagnosis with less chair time for you!
An intra-oral camera is a very small camera that allows Dr. LeSage to view clear and precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums in order for us to make accurate diagnoses. Mounted on the end of a pen-shaped instrument, the tiny intraoral camera is used to provide detailed imaging of the teeth and gums. Digital images are then captured instantly and sent to a TLC Light System™ monitor mounted above each treatment chair. As a result, patients learn about their problem areas and better understand their treatment, which increases their comfort before and during a procedure.
Apart from the Intra-Oral Camera, Dr. LeSage utilizes a 35mm SLR semi-professional camera that produces high resolution images. These provide a more accurate diagnosis and are also used for greater precision during all complex restorative and esthetic cases.
Want to see what your finished smile will look like before Dr. LeSage even begins treatment? With the help of computer imaging software, we digitally enhance a photo of your smile to show you what to expect if you follow our recommended cosmetic dentistry treatments. Computer smile imaging can show the amazing effects that porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, porcelain crowns, Invisalign®, restorative dentistry, and other procedures can have on your smile.
By using a small sensor that is briefly placed inside the mouth while an x-ray is taken, we capture details rarely visible on film. This sensor acts like a tiny camera that is more sensitive to x-ray light than normal light.
