Smile Design and Makeovers

Just a tweak to various aspects of a smile can make all the difference in the world, granting a new and improved smile. Aligning crowded teeth, closing gaps, reducing bucked teeth, whitening, reducing a gummy smile, widening a narrow smile, changing the length or shape of teeth, and tooth replacement/ repair, are just some of the many tools available in our arsenal, for bringing your smile to its fullest potential. By employing one or some combination of the above procedures as needed, we have helped hundreds of patients to put their best face forward. Many dentists think that a smile makeover usually involves at least the top eight or ten teeth and sometimes the lower eight or ten teeth too. By creating individual and customized treatment plans for our patients, our practice re-designs both your expectations and your smile. Multiple porcelain veneers are usually the most frequent of treatments because of their conservative restoration and strong and highly aesthetic. A smile makeover is a comprehensive, step-by-step treatment using Minimally Invasive Dentistry that is designed to address all of your cosmetic concerns.

Smile Recontouring

A modern and cost-effective technique that can quickly reshape, smooth and balance the way your teeth and gums look. The procedure enhances your smile with minimum pain and discomfort. It can be done with veneers and crowns or implemented alone. We can also help correct overwhelming or uneven gums to give you an impressive result.

Porcelain Veneers

Are a simple and easy way to correct many problems, including crooked or chipped teeth, stains and teeth affected by birth defects. This option has a lot of flexibility and often produces the most dramatic results. Often referred to as "instant orthodontics," porcelain veneers can be placed in a timely manner through a relatively simple procedure. And since porcelain veneers have been shown to maintain their brilliance and strength over time, they are a popular option among patients interested in a smile makeover.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns serve not only a restorative purpose, but also a cosmetic purpose. If the structure of your natural tooth is compromised enough that it jeopardizes the integrity, roots or nerves of your tooth, a porcelain crown may be placed on top of the tooth. This will create elegant teeth as well as protect the function of the bite surface.

Bonding

Similar to veneers, bonding is also a simple and easy way to correct many problems. Also known as composite or tooth bonding, this is an excellent way to fix cosmetic and structural imperfections in the teeth. Dental bonding can repair cracked, chipped and discolored teeth, as well as replace silver amalgam fillings. Cosmetic bonding can also repair misaligned teeth, providing a straighter, more uniform smile. Tooth bonding is actually the simple matter of placing a nano-thin plastic adhesive coating on your teeth's surface which is then covered with a bonding material. The bonding material will be sculpted and shaped to fit your natural teeth and makes the bonding look more natural and attractive. The plastic hardens and as a result, the surface of your teeth is then hardened using a high-intensity light before the final polishing. Contours can be re-established, translucency and texture reproduced to mirror the adjacent teeth.

Invisalign

The Invisalign system is a substitute for traditional metal braces. It gives you the flexibility of removing the customized aligners on special occasions while also straightening your teeth. Over a million Invisalign users agree that you can achieve a stunning smile without most people noticing you are going through orthodontic treatment.

Invisible Fillings

The latest and greatest in cosmetic dentistry techniques that not only provides a superbly aesthetic effect, but more importantly, actually seals the gap between the dental restoration and your tooth much better than the traditional silver fillings. This means your fillings aren't only stronger, but less likely to decay or break down. Dr. LeSage has been using these fillings day in and day out for the last twenty five years.

Porcelain Inlays and Onlays

When a large, defective filling needs to be replaced, porcelain inlays and onlays can be an excellent way to restore the tooth. A porcelain inlay is small and covers the grooves of the teeth. An onlay is larger and covers one or more cusps or corners of a tooth. Porcelain inlays and onlays have several advantages over other filling materials. When used to replace a silver filling, they will strengthen the tooth as well keep the tooth's original integrity. Porcelain is also harder and more durable than white composite fillings. The inlay or onlay will be bonded to your tooth, which creates a resilient, watertight seal. These restorations can be custom colored to match your teeth. A porcelain onlay is also more conservative and saves more of the natural tooth structure rather than a full crown. Dr. LeSage has placed these restorations or over twenty two years and is one of the few dentists in the United States to perform this cutting-edge procedure.
